Discussion for Week 11/27

Hey Ya'll, it's Meredith! :) Sorry im posting this late in the week, but i just got back from a trip, and we had some technical errors. I am excited, though, for the opportunity to encourage and strengthen yall in the Lord, God willing. Let's get started! :) The reading for this week was pages 21 to the end of the chapter...now im only posting a few questions since i only had 4 pages to work with here haha

1)The book talked about the importance of humility in the process of repentance. I love how he put it, "It takes humility to learn humility." Isn't that so true? This especially shows itself through in repentance when we first have to recognize our sin. Before we can even recognize it we have to humble ourselves, with God's help. Where in your life do you first need to repent so you can turn from a certain sin?

2) There was a list of 10 ways to remain humble. Which ones stood out to you? Which ones do you feel like you have to work on more?

3) This one is more of an assignment rather then a question...in the list of 10 ways to remain humble, number 4 was to ask others if you come across prideful in any way. I want you guys to ask one or both of your parents (or another adult older and wiser that knows you well) what ares or forms of pride you need to work on in your life. Humble yourself before asking and remember "it takes humility to learn humility!" :)

4) Wrapping up the chapter, what did you feel like God taught you through this awesome chapter we read over the past few weeks? What areas can you see God already helping you to change in your life through what you read?

In conclusion, we have to remember that "putting on humility, unfortunately, is not a one-time thing. Pride does not die once, but it must die daily!" For me, this chapter really reminded me of what a sinner i am and how much i really need to work on! When comparing ourselves to a perfect God, the truth of how depraved we really are pierces through our pride and sheds light to our sin that our flesh wants so desperately wants to hide. With that said isn't it so amazing that we have a God full of grace that wants to help us? What an amazing God we serve :)
